While Spider-Man 4 has already been confirmed by Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield has spoken out about his alleged participation in this project. And the actor is convinced that no one will believe him.

We already know that Spider-Man, the Marvel Cinematic Universe version, is due to return to theaters with a fourth part currently planned for 2026. But since this information was made official, the rumors surrounding this project are gaining momentum. The most recurring being the return of all the spideys, as was the case for No Way Home. And if Tobey Maguire has not yet spoken out on this subject, it was Andrew Garfield who recently revealed some information in an interview with GQ. The actor affirms: for the moment, he has not been contacted by Marvel.
I will disappoint you. No (he didn't sign on for Spider-Man 4). But I know no one is going to believe me from now on.
The actor is obviously referring here to his statements preceding the release of No Way Home, when he still denied his involvement in this third part. However, Andrew Garfield does not rule out the possibility of returning, whether to Marvel or within another major franchise.

A project that is taking shape
Andrew Garfield therefore does not close any doors, and we obviously know all the love that fans have for his version of the weaver. Still, for the moment, according to the actor, there is nothing to get excited about. Meanwhile, Spider-Man 4 is seriously starting to take shape. If we don't yet know all the details surrounding this new part, we already know that Tom Holland will return to play Peter Parker once again. The direction of the film was entrusted to Destin Daniel Cretton, who already signed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel. Finally, producer Amy Pascal revealed the main points of this film: “We have to face the fact that he decided that he was going to give up being Peter Parker, and that he was going to concentrate on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too difficult, so that’s what the movie is about… There’s room to grow.” As a reminder, in No Way Home, Peter asked Dr. Strange to erase the entire world's memory so that no one would remember Spider-Man's secret identity, revealed in the second part. This fourth film should therefore take up this narrative framework. Answer, at best, in 2026.
