From this Monday January 6, 2 is offering Shoresa new mini-series with Fleur Geffrier, Thierry Godard, Guillaume Labbé and Jean-Marc Barr. Is it worth the detour? Our opinion.

Monday January 6, at 9:05 p.m., France 2 broadcasts the first two episodes of Shoresevent mini-series with Thierry Godard, Guillaume Labbé, Jean-Marc Barr and Fleur Geffrier, revealed in Drops of God. Directed by David Hourrègues, to whom we owe the adaptation of Emile Zola's novel, Germinal broadcast in 2021 on France 2, it looks at mysterious phenomena endangering a community of fishermen.

Shores : What is the new series with Thierry Godard and Fleur Geffrier about, broadcast from January 6 on France 2?

While they harvest the fruit of their fishing off the coast of Fécamp, the sailors of the trawler Rosa Davies are dangerously struck. Embarking in turn to help them, André (Jean-Marc Barr) and his fellow rescuers can only notice when they arrive at the accident zone that the boat has sunk. When suddenly, a luminescent shape appears under the waves and dazzles them! Some time later, in , Abigail (Fleur Geffrier), a research oceanologist at IFREMER, is requisitioned to find the fourteen crew members and the wreck of the boat, strangely evaporated. Originally from the town where the accident took place, she suddenly left her loved ones three years ago, after a personal tragedy. His father, Henri Dufay (Thierry Godard), fishing boss, is none other than the owner of the missing vessel.

Shores : Should we watch the new series with Thierry Godard and Fleur Geffrier broadcast from January 6 on France 2?

Beyond its fantastic character, Shores stands out above all for its reflection on the deleterious relationship between men and Nature. At the cost of filming carried out in extreme conditions, director David Hourrègue films his characters as close as possible to their humanity, without ever falling into overkill with special effects. A beautiful balance served by inhabited actors, first and foremost Fleur Geffrier who delivers a remarkable composition, as solid in the action scenes as it is spare in the moments of emotion. Over the course of the episodes, we discover with empathy the harshness of a profession often called into question, while the dramatic intensity increases. An appointment not to be missed… even if you suffer from seasickness!
