The seventh and final episode of season 2 of Squid Game had a number of twists and turns to offer. But one in particular shocked subscribers, even though they could have guessed it long before…

This is no surprise: the series Squid Game is a master in the art of the plot twist, these unexpected twists of situations that spectators often do not see coming. And like season 1 where Netflix subscribers were shocked to discover that Il-nam, the adorable elderly gentleman hidden among the participants was in reality the creator of the game! And season 2, which has just broken a huge record, only outdoes it at this level. While episode 7 featured a death that made fans seethe with rage, it also gave rise to a revelation that many of them didn’t see coming…

Squid Game : this shocking revelation from episode 7 of season 2 could have been spotted well before

Netflix subscribers often have an eagle eye for spotting inconsistencies or guessing the outcome of certain events. And if, even before the release of season 2, some already had everything right regarding two plots, the plot twist of the final episode had not been completely spotted. In episode 7, we discovered that Captain Park (Oh Dal-su) was not who he claimed to be. This sailor is, however, the great savior of Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon), the police officer who was shot by his brother in season 1, since he fished him out before he succumbed to his injuries . And from the start of season 2, we understand that he has been helping her for two years to try to find the mysterious island off the coast of Seoul. It is therefore quite naturally to him that Jun-ho calls when time is running out to find the island since Gi-hun has been put back in the game. But in the last episode, we discover the captain sabotaging the scouting drone then assassinate the soldier who surprises him. But from episode 4, three episodes earlier, the most observant subscribers will have already noted that they had to be wary.

Squid Game : this inconsistency in episode 4 had already alerted us

In the fourth episode of season 2, the team of Jun-ho and Woo-seok, the mobster who lost his boss and swore to help Gi-hun, waits for the weather to clear before setting sail. Woo-seok then chats with Captain Park over a hot meal. And the latter lets a few clues slip: already, we feel that he is lying when he says that Jun-ho has already told him everything in order to push Woo-seok to speak. Then, he claims to know the weather well because he has been sailing for 30 years. But at the end of the conversation, a few minutes later, he says: “I’ve been sailing on this boat for ten years“. So, a dumpling or a strange turn of phrase? In light of the final events, it smells like a dumpling. Especially since, for many, Captain Park lies from the start: the most recurrent theory is that it is In-ho, Jun-ho’s brother and master of the game, who would have called on him to save his brother who he had shot. And Park would have remained under In-ho’s orders all this time, pretending to help Jun-ho find the island but losing him at sea in order to discourage him. A highly probable theory since, as we know, coincidences do not exist in Squid Game.
