The Montreal Canadiens really took everyone by surprise last night by winning against the Colorado Avalanche.

Almost no one saw the Habs coming out with at least one point, or simply playing a close match.

In fact, I tell you, when I sat down to watch the match with my father, we looked at each other and said that it would be a difficult match and that we probably risked losing by several goals.

But in the end, the CH found a way to not only play a close match against one of the best teams in the NHL, but also to get two very big points at altitude.

And these two points, well, they are largely signed by Jakub Dobes.

The rookie goalie was sensational, as he turned away 22 of the 23 shots he faced, making several crucial saves.

So Dobes has had two excellent starts so far in his young NHL career, while allowing just one goal on 57 shots.

The 23-year-old Czech goalie is also the first goalie in CH history to allow only one goal in his first two NHL games.

He is also only the 5th rookie goalie in CH history to win his first two games in the NHL.

Dobes is therefore having a resounding debut in the NHL, and let’s say that he is already starting to make a name for himself.

CH fans have already adopted him and are already comparing him to Carey Price, and in the locker room, the young Czech really seems to be very popular, as evidenced by his teammates’ teasing of him during his post-match interview. .

In short, with all this wind of positivism surrounding Dobes, we really wonder why he was not recalled earlier by the Canadian.

He brings a breath of fresh air to the locker room, and above all, he helps Samuel Montembeault by being a solid second goalkeeper, something that Cayden Primeau has never managed to do.

Even if Primeau won his first game back in , the American netminder risks waiting a long time before returning to the NHL if Dobes continues to perform like this.

The Czech goalkeeper finally brings solidity and consistency to the auxiliary goalie position, and if things continue like this, Primeau will stay in Laval for good.

Dobes was so solid and confident last night that many are starting to wonder if Martin St-Louis could give him the start on Monday at the Bell Center against the Vancouver Canucks.

It would be a great reward and a great gift to give Dobes his first game at the Bell Centre, while he has the wind in his sails.

In short, otherwise, with a two-for-two Friday (against the Capitals in Washington) and Saturday (against the Dallas Stars at the Bell Center), Dobes will certainly be entitled to a third career start this week.
