If the episode of Caesar Wagner broadcast this Friday, January 3, seeing the return of Lieutenant Saskevitch, it also sees Commissioner Koehler, played by Joséphine de Meaux, resign. Gil Alma’s reaction to the departure of his partner.
Fans of Caesar Wagner had reason to rejoice with the unprecedented return, Friday January 3, of the commander of the Strasbourg PJ who returned with, obviously, all his imaginary symptoms to which he is always very attentive. The murder of a regional wine expert led him and his team to lead the investigation within the family wine estate run by Commissioner Koeler’s cousin (Joséphine de Meaux). A well-conducted affair which ended with… the departure of the commissioner! After coming close to death, she made a big decision: she left the police, sent in her resignation, all to invest in the family business and save the wine estate. Gil Alma reacts to the departure of Josephine of Meaux, whose character feels “like a deer on the edge of a wood”.
Caesar Wagner: Gil Alma reacts to the departure of Joséphine de Meaux
Met a few weeks before the return of Caesar Wagner on the air, Gil Alma, his interpreter, reacted to the departure of Joséphine de Meaux, who plays his boss in the France 2 detective series. “Yes, she’s really leaving,” confirms the actor, still performing in his show Gil Alma and Benoît Joubert (re)united. “Joséphine and I have known each other for a while. I met her on the set of Naughty, in 2007 and released the following year. We met several times. I thought it was great that she was with us on Caesar Wagner. Firstly because she’s a great actress, she’s fantastic, and because we get along well. Moreover, when, at the end of the episode, César is moved by the resignation of the commissioner, his emotions mixed a little with mine. I like to let myself be carried away.”
Caesar Wagner: Joséphine de Meaux and Fanny Cottençon, underexploited…
It must be recognized that Joséphine de Meaux, present since the launch of the series in 2020, had only a few scenes to play, her role as commissioner not being by definition a field character. A regret also expressed by Fanny Cottençon, also in the casting of Caesar Wagner where she plays the hero’s mother. “I don’t know if I continue César Wagner. Maybe. […] They should write me more interesting things to play.” A completely understandable feeling for Gil Alma. “It’s normal, I understand, the actor begins. Like Josephine [de Meaux], Fanny [Cottençon] is also a great actress with an incredible resume. I hope to do half of what she did. It’s true that she has few days of filming each time. There must have been an episode that took place at the town hall [dans la série la comédienne joue la mère de César et la maire de Strasbourg, ndlr] but ultimately it didn’t happen. She would have had more to play with since she would have been a bit in the heart of the place.”
