José, who participated in the second part of the semi-final with his friends on M6, felt bad on the set of the show.

The “Best Pastry Chef” tests are not easy for the candidates in the M6 competition. Each week, participants must take on ever greater challenges.

This Thursday, January 2, 2025, during the broadcast of the episode dedicated to the second semi-final of season 13, one of them had a difficult time. The program was dedicated to the holidays and the amateur pastry chefs had to make an XXL edible snowball cake through which they had to tell an important episode in their life.

The start of the challenge went rather well for Benjamin, Timothée Tsiory and José, who were still in the running, until the latter experienced a serious bout of fatigue while he was finalizing his creation. “I'm not comfortable here, I'm having trouble breathing…he told the journalist during the ordeal with shortness of breath. I'm still going to finish my cake even if I'm not well because I want to get something out but I have to go get some fresh air. » As soon as the end of the event was announced by Laëtitia Milot, José quickly slipped out of the tent, leaving his companions alone. “Have we heard from José?” Where is he? »asked one of them.

Victim of four cancers

The oldest of the competition, aged 58, has fragile health. He was, in fact, the victim of four cancers from which he recovered. After finishing his cake, he went to the room intended for candidates to rest and regain his strength. The tasting of the test was therefore done without him. It was ultimately Tsiory who won the “Top” of the challenge. The next day, José appeared rested. He was able to participate at the end of the tests. Timothée was the first to secure a place in the final while José and Tsiory joined him at the end of the episode. It was therefore Benjamin who left the competition.

After this colorful episode, José returned to his discomfort with our colleagues at Télé Loisirs, explaining the reasons which caused it. “ It's simply due to my medical history, I sometimes have abdominal attacks because I've been tampered with a lot inside.he explained. I didn't expect it to take me there. (…)I intentionally or involuntarily forgot to put on my abdominal support belt, so I missed it a little to relieve my pain. But from the moment I was able to get one, things picked up again. It's physical, it wasn't an emotional breakdown

“I was writhing a little in pain”

The Breton also recounted how things unfolded in the tent: “I held on despite myself until the end of the ordeal, I was writhing a little in pain but anyway I said to myself: “You’ll get there, assume”. I took out what I could and apparently it wasn't that bad.he noted. I don't regret anything, it will teach me to put what I need in my suitcase. I needed a few good hours of rest. And I especially needed this belt which arrived providentially, we managed to find my size and exactly the material I had at home. From the moment I put it on, obviously with the abdominal restraint, it gave me almost instant relief”he concluded.
