We no longer present Tamara, Alexia and Sylia, the most iconic art thieves of the small screen. The heroines of Cat’s Eyes brought together more than 5 million viewers, on average, every Monday evening when the series was broadcast on TF1. A record for this live action adaptation of Tsukasa Hōjō's manga, now available for streaming on Prime Video, since December 18, 2024. But what to see after Cat’s Eyeswhile waiting for season 2?
To go further
Lupin sur Netflix
Cat’s Eyes is not the first series to feature art thefts: the one with Omar Sy was a hit on Netflix, and we are of course talking about Lupin. The French actor plays Assane Diop, who is inspired by the famous gentleman burglar, Arsène Lupin, in order to avenge his father.
Each episode is filled with twists: Assane disguises himself, invents a thousand ways to always get around everything, and he is obviously several steps ahead of the police. And it is also the opportunity to return to the Louvre, after episode 6 of Cat’s Eyes !
FBI: Very Special Duo (White Collar) sur Disney+
When gentleman burglar Neal Caffrey escapes from prison, he is immediately arrested by FBI agent Peter Burke, who has been pursuing him all along. Caffrey then makes a deal with the FBI: he will help them solve investigations, in exchange for his probation.
FBI: Very special duo (or White Collar in original version) stands out from other detective series of the genre, since we very often witness thefts and crimes located in the world of art. The 6 seasons thus constitute a perfect mix between two flagship series: Cat’s Eyes et Blacklist.
Signé Cat’s Eyes on TF1+ and ADN
It's difficult not to mention the original work: before the French live-action from TF1, Tsukasa Hōjō's manga gave rise to a cult animated TV series, Signé Cat’s Eyes. This is a literal adaptation of the manga, since the author himself was also the creator.
Broadcast between 1983 and 1985, the two seasons take us in the footsteps of Cyllia, Tam and Alexia in French, or Hitomi, Rui and Ai in the original version. We discover their nocturnal adventures, during which they steal paintings that once belonged to their father. Note that an animated remake of Signé Cat’s Eyes is currently in production, for Disney+.
Totally Spies on Netflix and Prime Video
A trio of badass and endearing girls in an action-packed anime, like in Cat’s Eyes ? Obviously we immediately think of Totally Spies. In this French animated series, created in 2001, Sam, Clover and Alex are high school students.
But above all, these fashion fans in their colorful jumpsuits hide a big secret: they are also professional spies for WOOHP (World Office Of Human Protection). Perfect for a little shot of nostalgia, the 7 seasons of Totally Spies will also be an opportunity to rediscover an iconic theme song, which has (almost) nothing to envy of that of Cat’s Eyes.
Cleo sur Netflix
We end this selection with another badass heroine, who masters the art of disguise as well as our Cat’s Eyes favorites: CleoOf course. This Netflix series features a former East German spy, wrongly accused by the Stasi and who has just emerged from her captivity, which lasted several years.
In a country now liberated by the fall of the Berlin Wall, Kleo will then embark on a relentless quest to find one by one all those who betrayed her. Completely crazy, the two seasons of this German gem happily remind us of the great times of Kill Billpop version from the 1990s.
