“It is not up to the RN to say who it will censor or not. What matters is the architecture of the government,” however added François Patriat.

The president of the Renaissance group in the Senate, François Patriat, called on Franceinfo on Sunday December 22 to “avoid” to appoint personalities to the government “immediately censorable” by the National Rally, while the final arbitrations are underway for the formation of the future government of François Bayrou.
“If there are people who, inside the government, threaten its stability, if there are people who are immediately censorable, that can be a problem that must be avoided, so as not to be the hostage of the National Rally” he said.
“I don’t know if Xavier Bertrand will return to government, but the fact that the RN can say its word shocks me”he added, referring to the multiple positions taken by the RN on possible censorship if the president of the Hauts-de-France region was appointed to the government. “It is not up to the RN to say who it will censor or not. What matters is the architecture of the government.”
Finally questioned about a government appointment this Monday, a day of national mourning for Mayotte, François Patriat said he did not see “incompatibility” : “France needs a government, the president has returned from Mayotte and things are progressing in Mayotte. If it is this Monday, nothing prevents the government from being known at the end of the morning or in the afternoon”.
