France 3 is broadcasting this Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 9:10 p.m. the new TV film Murders in Montauban. To lead the investigation, two investigators – played by Hubert Delattre and Déborah Krey – will form a new duo. This intrigue will also be an opportunity to see Lionnel Astier again, who confided in Tele-Leisure about this role.

Murders in Montauban (our opinion) arrives on France 3 this Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 9:10 p.m. This new police TV movie plunges us into the heart of the city of Tarn-et-Garonne, in the Occitanie region, in the midst of celebrating the Feast of the 400 Blows. This event refers to the city’s victory over the army of Louis XIII in 1621. But in the plot of France 3, this celebration is overshadowed by the murder of a local rugby figure, Patrick Delmas – played by former rugby player Fabien Pelous. In the cast of this TV movie, you will also find Hubert Delattre (Grilled chickens) and Deborah Krey (The invisible ones) in the role of the two investigators, while Lionnel Astier plays the father of Déborah Krey’s character. The latter gave an interview to Tele-Leisure.

Murders in Montauban : “I gave my consent before knowing who the character was.“, confides Lionnel Astier

Tele-Leisure : What attracted you to this project?
Lionel Astier : I have a great bond with the director Muriel Aubin, whom I met when I was on the series. Alex Hugo. I was sure that the role she was offering me was interesting. So I agreed before knowing who the character was. I chose the friendship, trust and talent of the director.

Your character, Jean, is a former rugby player. Do you have a connection with this sport?
I played rugby when I was young in my hometown of Alès. I don’t watch football, I’m more of a rugby fan.

After Murders in Toulousehere you are again in an episode of this detective series…
I have also since filmed in Murders in Arboisin Franche-Comté. I loved doing Murders in Toulousethe murders are linked to the song Toulouse of Nougaro, and the places mentioned therein.

Lionel Astier is filming the second part of the films Kaamelott.

What are your next projects?
The second part of the films is being shot Kaamelott. There is a very long filming time. There, I am going to film for three days in Lyon, then I will return there in October, a little in November and in December. I have a project in the theater for the start of the 2025 school year called Petiot, the evil one. I also have a personal theater project. I wrote a few years ago The Night of the Camisards to play it in the forest. We return to the south, the Cévennes, my roots. I have just written the sequel, Elise, the wrath of God. In 2025, these two plays will be performed in the forests. It is a project that takes up a lot of my time and which I am committed to.
