Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s victory in the Algerian presidential election of September 7 has been confirmed by the Constitutional Court. The final results were published on Saturday, September 14. According to the figures, the outgoing president won with 84.3% of the vote. His score initially announced by the Electoral Authority was 94.65%. The turnout, one of the stakes of the vote, has also changed.

This is less than what the National Independent Election Authority (ANIE) had announced after the vote: based on preliminary figures, Abdelmadjid Tebboune had collected 94.65% of the votes. The outgoing president was facing two little-known candidates.
Moderate Islamist Abdelaali Hassani was finally credited with 9.56% instead of 3.17%, and socialist Youcef Aouchiche with 6.14% instead of 2.16%. The participation rate was also adjusted by the Constitutional Court, to 46.1%.
