The fourth season of the Alerts series ended in bloodshed as the interim captain of the Cerbère Squad, Roméo Goulet, was attacked with a knife by an unknown person in the police station parking lot.
He died almost instantly. We wondered if Jean-Michel Anctil knew, when he was approached by the production to play this character, that he only had half a season.
« Oui “, he answers, bluntly. “ It’s funny, because I had just finished With a beating heart where my character dies in prison. Then I came across this, and there was a makeup artist who was With a beating heart and who is on AlertsI said: “Hey, are you just giving me bad luck? Every time I have a character, they die.” So I didn’t hire her for Come to the Salon [sa nouvelle série] “, he said, laughing.
I knew the character was going to die, but I thought, “Maybe they’ll change the script at some point, if they see that people are getting attached to the character.” But no, their idea was made up.
« When I looked at the comments following the last episode, people were very disappointed that Roméo Goulet died. People were attached to him. »
He adds this: “ It was a great adventure, a great team. I was a little inspired by the team spirit there was on Alerts to create this aspect of fraternity, of family on the set of Come to the living room. »
Unfortunately, you should not expect to see Roméo Goulet in flashback. Jean-Michel Anctil did not film any other scenes after the death of his character. “ I know they’ll start filming again in the spring, maybe there », he says, not despairing of returning one day to this warm set that he loved so much.
Please note that you will be able to find Jean-Michel Anctil this winter on TV in the comedy Passez au salon, based on an idea that he and Louis-Philippe Dandenault had while visiting a funeral home. The series will be presented on Wednesday evenings at 9 p.m. on TVA, starting January 8.
For its part, Alerts will resume on Monday, January 6 at 9 p.m. Check out the first images here.
