“Mask Singer” returns for a Christmas special, without Inès Reg

Chantal Ladesou, Kev Adams, Anggun and Laurent Ruquier are those who will lead the investigation from the TF1 set, to unmask the ten participants of this edition.

“Mask Singer” puts on his costume of light. The TF1 game, presented by Camille Combal, will be back this Friday, December 20 at 9:10 p.m. for a special Christmas edition. The front page promises “the equivalent of a season concentrated in a single extraordinary evening” through his press release on the show. For the occasion, Chantal Ladesou, Kev Adams and Laurent Ruquier will try to guess the identity of the costumed singers.

A change to note in this team: it is not Inès Reg but Anggun who will join the investigators’ bench. The French singer is not at her first attempt: she led the investigation during the first three seasons of the program in , alongside Kev Adams, Alessandra Sublet and Jarry. In 2023, under the costume of the bull, Anggun was unmasked after her interpretation of Grenade by Bruno Mars, before joining his colleagues to reveal the identity of other participants.

The surprises don’t stop there: things also change on the participants’ side. In this special Christmas edition, nine of the ten candidates will be personalities who have already participated in the show. They will, of course, wear iconic costumes from the show, but will not wear the one they had already worn. The tenth is the exception that proves the rule: this celebrity will never have tried his luck in “Mask Singer”.

The absence of Inès Reg

Guest investigator in season four and investigator in season 6, the comedian’s defection is noticed. It is possible that her eventful passage in “Dancing with the Stars” – in reference to the highly publicized conflict between her and Natasha St-Pier – was detrimental to the thirty-year-old. After crossing swords with the Canadian singer, Inès Reg was still approached for the leading role in a fiction with the front page.

As reported by several media, the young woman would have voluntarily left this project. “I am completely returning to what I know how to do best and what I miss in a visceral way: the stage,” confided Inès Reg in an interview with BFMTV. Would this disenchantment extend to “Mask Singer”?
