My little reindeer: the creator of the hit series leaves Netflix – News Series

After the phenomenal success of “My Little Reindeer”, creator and actor Richard Gadd is embarking on a new project, “Lions”, which will not be offered on Netflix.

It’s an understatement to say that My Little Reindeer has opened the doors to success for Richard Gadd. While the series has become one of the most-watched programs in the history of Netflix, the author is already looking into his new project, Lions. Major change: exit Netflix, this fiction is co-produced by HBO and the BBC.

According to information from Deadlinethe plot of Lions will ask the following question: “What does it mean to be a man?“The story will follow two brothers who are complete opposites, Niall and Ruben. When the latter arrives at the former’s wedding, an explosion of violence catapults them back in time. Lions will span 40 years of life, from the eighties to today, to try to understand the relationship between the two men, from their adolescence to adulthood.

It’s surprising that this new series is developing without Netflix’s help, especially after the immense success of My Little Reindeer. It should be noted that the drama was recently the subject of controversy after a woman, claiming to be the “real” Martha – a disturbing and disturbing character – accused the creator of lying and sued the platform for defamation.

While nothing has been confirmed, it’s likely that the controversy has strained relations between the streaming giant and Richard Gadd. Deadline claims that the writer will pen the script for Lions and will also be a producer. There’s no word yet on whether he’ll play one of the two main characters.

Two directors have already been announced: Alexandra Brodski (Somewhere Boy) and Eshref Reybrouck. For the moment, no release date has been revealed.

My Little Reindeer is available on Netflix.
