As fans eagerly await the conclusion ofArcanewhich will be revealed on November 23, 2024 on Netflix, theories are multiplying about this ending which promises to be epic. One of them particularly concerns Jinx and Ekko, who could find themselves unexpectedly in the final episodes of the series.
We've been waiting for it for three years and it will finally be revealed to us in a few days: the conclusion ofArcane is now imminent, while the final episodes of season 2 are expected for November 23, 2024, on Netflix. The opportunity to say our heartbreaking goodbyes to characters we love so much like Vi, Jayce, Viktor, Mel and even Caitlyn.
Among all these protagonists, two heroes battered by life play a crucial role: Jinx, who has always been the beating heart ofArcaneas well as Ekko, currently missing in the twists and turns of Hextech, alongside Heimerdinger. But their reunion should be imminent and fans have even imagined that their relationship could be at the heart of Act 3 of Season 2 ofArcane.
Warning, the rest of this article contains spoilers for the first 6 episodes ofArcane as well as theories about the end of the series.
What is the relationship between Ekko and Jinx?
Originally, the two characters shared a common childhood, in the underworld of Zaun. But if a strong friendship brought them together at that time, it changed when Jinx joined the ranks of Silco, just after the death of Vander, in episode 3 of season 1. Ekko then created the movement of the Flying Fires to defend the city of Zaun against the control of Piltover.
Evolving in two completely different environments and not necessarily sharing the same interests, Jinx and Ekko end up confronting each other in an explosive fight, in episode 7 of season 1. It is following this battle on the Bridge of Progress that Jinx will be saved by Singed, thanks to the Shimmer. Since then, the two characters have not met again in season 2, but their relationships are not really in good shape, after their last duel.
What if Ekko came back to save Jinx?
OnArcane : the triumphant return of Ekko, finally out of Hextech, to save Jinx.
In the various trailers, revealed for the promotion of season 2, we see Jinx setting fire to an establishment which very closely resembles The Last Drop, the bar that Vander once managed. She even seems to take the opportunity to cut her famous braids, which make her so iconic.
The hypothesis imagined by fans would be that Vi's younger sister, devastated by the deaths of Isha and Vander/Warwick in episode 6 of season 2, took advantage of the fire to end her life. This is where Ekko could step in and save her.
While being a prisoner of the Hextech, which seems to make him travel to different dimensions, the leader of the Flying Fires would have learned of Jinx's disastrous plan. The opportunity would then be perfect to introduce Ekko's power into League of Legends : that of going back in time, in order to protect his former enemy.
Jinx and Ekko against the Almighty of Piltover
In the few images of Act 3 that Netflix revealed, Ekko's appearance suggests that he witnessed a fire or a battle: he has traces of ashes on his face and his makeup is partially erased . It is at this moment that he could therefore have a conversation with Jinx, probably very moving, around his gesture, during which Ekko would comfort her and pronounce a sentence heard in the trailer: “Sometimes, moving forward means leaving a part of yourself behind. »
A time jump would then take place in the last three episodes of season 2 ofArcanewhich would explain why Jinx and Ekko completely changed their appearance, in some teasers for the series.
During this period, their bonds were deeply strengthened, which would lead Jinx to join the rebellion against Piltover, alongside Ekko, in a final confrontation which already promises to be memorable. The main weapon of Vi's sister, Poiscaille, also seems to have a new look, close to that of the machines created by the Flying Fires.
While they sought to destroy each other in season 1 ofArcanethis reunion could therefore offer Jinx and Ekko a much more peaceful relationship, while offering a perfect parallel with their face-to-face encounter in the past. To find out if this theory will indeed break our hearts into a thousand pieces, we will still have to wait until November 23, 2024, in order to discover the final chapters ofArcane.
