Three years after its construction, Élisée Reclus, 101 Words is now published by Presses du Réel. Coordinated by Pauline Couteau (philosopher), Philippe Pelletier et Federico Ferretti (both geographers) and Nicolas Eprendre (documentarian director), this book brought together more than fifty contributors.
The geographer and anarchist Élisée Reclus finds favor with bookstores in publications which do not mind a very selective sorting of his work, highlighting his deep humanity, while forgetting his authentic radicalism.
On the contrary, this work, motivated from its origin by the desire to explore, without omitting anything, the diversity of his thought and his commitments, including the most radical, allows, through the format of the Primer to mobilize critical pens refusing conformism like hagiography. The 101 thematic leaves of this reclusive tree take stock of current topics, such as science, the environment, gender, violence, the people, the revolution… and offer unexpected perspectives, from Saint-Simon and Spinoza to cosmos, as so many possibilities for future discoveries.
The BAM invites you to meet Pauline Couteau, Philippe Pelletier, Federico Ferretti and Nicolas Eprendre during the presentation of the book.
The presentation and discussion will be followed by a buffet in spanish inn (everyone is invited to contribute by bringing something).
Saturday December 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Malakoff community library (14, impasse Carnot, metro line 13 Malakoff-rue Etienne Dolet).
