The crew of Netflix’s One Piece season is officially growing. The SVOD giant has revealed some new faces for season 2.

It was one of the phenomena of last summer. To almost everyone’s surprise, the Netflix series One Piece has won millions of subscribers. Given the platform’s history in terms of manga adaptations, it was not a given and yet. The involvement of Eiichiro Oda, its creator, undoubtedly has a lot to do with it. Naturally, it didn’t take long before the American streaming giant ordered a second season. Today she is officially giving her news again.

Agents of Baroque Works ready for One Piece season 2

One Piece season 2 began filming yesterday. Luffy, Nami, Zoro and the rest of the whole troop will soon be reunited for the rest of their adventures. Adventures that will take them to the Grand Line where they will meet new colorful characters who will give them a hard time. Starting with Baroque Works, a secret agency made up of fighters as zany as they are formidable, with very dark designs. With production officially underway, it was only a matter of time before Netflix announced some of the new faces for One Piece season 2. It is now done.

The first four members of Baroque Works, iconic in the beginnings of the manga, were thus revealed. The eccentric Mr. 3 will be played by none other than David Dastmalchian, known among others for his roles in the films Suicide Squad et Batman The Dark Knight. Hats off to Netflix for getting their hands on one for season 2 of One Piece. His comrades will be new talents in the making. Miss Valentine will be played by Jazzara Jaslyn (Lioness, Warrior), Mr. 5 par Camrus Johnson (Batwoman, The OA) and Mr. 8 by Daniel Lasker (Raised by wolves), all having had some appearances in various films and series.

The most important new characters in One Piece season 2, like Crocodile, Robin, Ace, Smoker, Vivi or even Chopper are expected to be revealed soon as filming progresses. The interpreter of the Princess of Alabasta has, however, already been discovered in the person of Charithra Chandran, a face well known to viewers of the Bridgerton Chronicles, Netflix’s flagship series. The streaming platform, however, did not confirm the information, even if she was seen in the company of Iñaki Godoy (Luffy) before the start of filming.
