The structure joins “Partir en livre”, a national book festival for young people, with a series of free events for young people and families. Exhibition, workshops and multimedia events will be on the program throughout July.

Organized by the National Book Center (CNL) at the instigation of the Ministry of Culture, the national festival “Partir en livre” celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The Greater Narbonne media library has decided to join in the celebrations, by organizing a series of free events in the area in July for young people and families.

The Port-La Nouvelle media library and the Grand Narbonne ephemeral library will host an exhibition called Name of an insect!, a fun and educational installation presenting the interpretation of ten insects by illustrator Mathilde Magnan. Using often poetic or humorous names, the artist reinvents these insects based on his scientific knowledge and his imagination. The works exhibited are taken from his album Insectoidus : an exhibition specially recommended for young people, to see from 1er as of July 31. In addition, children from 7 years old will be able to participate in a cartoon workshop by Mathilde Magnan: it will be Tuesday July 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ephemeral Library (Narbonne), then from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Port-La Nouvelle media library. In addition, outdoor reading times will be offered by the librarians with albums, stories, comics and magazines made available. See you Tuesday July 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Saint-Paul garden in Narbonne, Thursday July 4 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the play park near the Paul Bert and Emile Zola schools in Narbonne, and Tuesday July 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. again at the Saint-Paul garden, as part of a day dedicated to the place.

Finally, two “multimedia” moments for the general public (presence of parents for children under 8 years old) are also on the program. Wednesday July 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Ephemeral Libraries, discovery of Chouett’appli, offering the opportunity to immerse yourself in new albums via adapted interactive applications (information and registration on 04 68 43 40 40).

Then Wednesday July 11 and Thursday July 18 in Iness, from 2 to 4 p.m., various digital activities await visitors to Iness: BlinkBook, virtual reality, video games, coding…
