LLaunched last summer and having managed to attract more than 600 visitors, the Montbron book fair is back this Sunday, November 30 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Minage media library for a second edition which promises to be attractive.

The editorial team advises you

Already present last year, it is the bestselling author Thomas B. Reverdy who will be the godfather. “He has a house in the region and really enjoyed being with us, so we welcome him with great pleasure, especially since he will perform from 4:20 p.m., and for more than an hour, a musical reading and will be accompanied by the former singer and guitarist of Innocents Jipé Nataf,” says Eric Bellino, president of the Utopies Realistes association which is in charge of the organization.

Schoolchildren from Montbron took part in numerous activities ahead of the show.

Among the ten authors who responded, Véronique Ovaldé is far from being unknown since she notably received the Renaudot prize for high school students in 2009 with her novel “Ce que je sais de Vera Candida”. Neither does Paola Pigani, who spent her childhood in Cellefrouin and won numerous literary prizes. Also announced on Sunday, Eddy L. Harris, the American author based in Pranzac or Eric Decouty, one of the editorialists of Charente Libre.

On the theme “Women and rurality”

After climate change last year, the theme chosen this year is “Women and rurality”. “This allows us to bring in the illustrator and sociologist Justine Marzack and the Chasseneuil collective “Women in the countryside” for a debate at 2:30 p.m. which will be moderated by the director of the Hauts Regional Book and Reading Agency. -de-France, François Annycke”, specifies Eric Bellino who also brings in the independent bookstores Le Trait d’Union from La Rochefoucauld and Lilosimages from Angoulême. Just like the independent publishing houses Belloloco, Apeiron, Papitou, La Marge and Asso.222.

Throughout the day, many activities are planned, particularly for young people. “School and college students from Montbron took part in numerous activities ahead of the show with Julie Vaast for a comic book illustration workshop, a reading aloud competition and the creation of the youth reading village with the making of bamboo shelters. It is within this village that there will be readings of guest books from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:45 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. »

We will know around 12:15 p.m. the winners of the short story competition launched in February by the association in partnership with the media library and for which there were 23 participants, then the company “Lune d’Ailes” will offer its show “La cabin à histoire” from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The members of Realistic Utopias will perform a performance on the theme of the Olympic Games at 5:40 p.m. and the day will end at 6 p.m. with the closing concert with the group “Abyss” (pop-rock covers) under one of the two tivoli installed in the garden of the old castle.

Finally, as a warm-up, Saturday from 7:30 p.m. at the Le Sonneur association café, rue d’Angoulême, a rural tale will be performed by the company “Les Chemins de Faire”.

Free entry, refreshment bar and on-site catering thanks to a food truck specializing in savory crepes. The complete program of the show can be found on the website utopias-realistes.fr
