Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has revealed that the iconic rock band has no plans to return to the studio to record new music. During a recent interview with Riff X’s Metal XS, Sixx discussed the band’s schedule and priorities for the coming months, emphasizing that family and existing commitments take priority over new recordings.
“We’re playing festivals, which takes us into October. We don’t have any plans for next year yet. I know there are conversations about that.”, Sixx said. Although the group has already recorded a few singles, he said he has no immediate need to create more material. “I don’t see any reason to go into the studio right now, because we have two more singles [enregistrés et prêts] has [sortir]. And I always want to make sure that if we go into the studio, we have a reason or something that really inspires us.”
Sixx also focused on the logistical challenges the group faces with its members living in different states across the United States. “I live in Wyoming, Vince [Neil, le chanteur] lives in Tennessee and the other two in California”he explains. The demands of touring and family life, especially for Sixx, who has a five-year-old daughter, also play a big part in their decision-making. “I really want to be with her as much as possible.”
Mötley Crüe’s latest single, Dogs Of War, was released on April 26th through their new deal with Nashville-based Big Machine Records.
