What good memories do you have of your adventure?
“My arrival on the island of Reds, my first harpoon fishing and the many victories even if, because of the large number of black balls drawn (she holds the record for the show in all seasons, Editor’s note.)I was not able to participate in many events alongside the Reds.“
Gustin’s betrayal has tarnished your adventure a little…
“I admit I had a bad experience. I thought I found an ally in Gustin. It was disillusionment. That’s why afterwards, I did everything to eliminate it and I don’t regret my action at all. When we met at the final jury, we were able to discuss it. There was no resentment, the tension had already eased.“
Which event are you most proud of?
“Even though I came second, I would say the lazy one because I still defended myself well even though it was very hard.“
What was the hardest thing for you to deal with in Koh Lanta ?
“Not hunger because over time it subsides, but rather the weakness we feel when we don’t eat much. The brain slows down, the body takes a toll. It took me two months to really get back on my feet afterwards. Koh Lanta. I ate a lot when I got home. I had no more muscles. So I had to do a lot of sport again.”
Did you come back different from this adventure?
“Yes, really. It’s so strong and difficult what we experience in Koh Lanta… It is well known that it is by experiencing great difficulties that we learn and emerge stronger. This experience taught me to remain optimistic. I also discovered a strength there that I didn’t think I had until then.“
Has your experience in Koh-Lanta given you ideas for a future book?
“It inspired me a lot, in fact. I was confronted with situations that I had never experienced before. Obviously, it gave rise to several ideas for me. Maybe I could make fiction inspired by Koh Lanta. Why not, we’ll see. But, before that, I have to take a step back because it’s only been six months since I returned from the Philippines. Volume 2 ofAtalantawhich is in corrections, should be released soon.“
