Today an accomplished artist, Julien Doré recently shared his memories of a memorable audition in the show 8:30 p.m. Le Dimanche, Sunday November 10, 2024, where he looked back on his beginnings in the telecrochet show Nouvelle Star. In 2007, still unknown, he appeared before the show's jury, a ukulele in hand. But against all odds, Marianne James, emblematic juror, asked him to sing without this instrument, an unexpected request which greatly destabilized him. Taken by surprise, he did not dare put down his ukulele, and the jury sent him back without him being able to perform anything. Fortunately, Virginie Efira, then presenter of the program, was able to find the right words to encourage him to return to the audition room. This small intervention changed everything.
