By restarting “ Secret Story », after 7 years of absence, TF1 hoped to repeat the very successful experience of the comeback of the “Star Academy”. Launched in 2022, the revival of the musical telecrochet is even experiencing increasing success and has already landed a new season for the start of the school year in September. The same cannot be said for the broadcast of Christophe Beaugrandwhich failed to stand out, both in terms of audiences and in terms of public enthusiasm.
At the microphone of “We are not remaking TV”, the host raised the possibility of an extension for next year. “So, if the management of TF1 has already said yes, it remains a secret for me too. » he confided, before adding, “I don’t think any decisions have been made yet. » However, he specified that an assessment would be made in order to gauge the performance of this new season, in relation to “air audiences”, but also streaming figures on TF1+. “Will everyone have considered that it will have been sufficiently profitable, because the show must bring in more money than it costs? I don’t have that information. But I hope. » he assured.

Coming back to the new formula, Christophe Beaugrand indicated that he had one regret, that of the transition to non-embodied daily newspapers. “We’re watching a soap opera, we don’t necessarily need a presenter to accompany the viewer,” he said, thus explaining TF1’s decision. But he admitted that he would still have liked to present these sequences, broadcast at the end of the afternoon. “I think there could be more platforms at nomination time, for calls for candidates to vote, that sort of thing, to help explain the issues a little bit more. » he said.
