It’s THE series of the moment: “Culte”, on Amazon Prime Video, goes behind the scenes of the first French reality TV show, “Loft Story”. And we follow producer Isabelle de Rouchechouart aka Alexia Laroche-Joubert.

Alexia Laroche-Joubert threatened by mail?
In one of the episodes of the series, where her fictional double is played with great success by the young actress Anaïde Rozam, we can see the producer opening a letter received at the production offices of the show broadcast on M6. In a movement of panic and disgust, she then opens a letter containing… a bloody eye. A threat towards her when her name appears in the credits of Loft Storya show which brings together millions of viewers but also arouses virulent criticism. The anti-people want it removed from the air and go so far as to demonstrate in front of the filming location as well as in front of the M6 building.
Did this scene really happen? Alexia Laroche-Joubert has not commented on it to date but Matthieu Rumani – one of the two authors of Worshipwho collected the producer’s testimony on how she had lived throughout this period in the early 2000s – told the Parisian that the offices had indeed been targeted. “I even think they were robbed several times. People tried to recover cassettes of unpublished images that they never found but, as a result, they left with a bit of equipment, a screen or two. They’ve never had anything secret stolen.”
Alexia Laroche-Joubert not intimidated by threats
The now 54-year-old producer gave a video interview to the INA and agreed to comment on archive footage from the time of Loft. We therefore see the famous demonstrators in question and she is still laughing about it. “That was a first, that is to say we had never seen an entertainment program that generated so much excess (…) And the only demonstrators who made me laugh were are those who said; ‘Free the chickens!’ [qui étaient gardées dans le jardin du loft, ndlr]. So that, I admit, made me laugh a lot“, she confided. She specifies that the production did everything to protect the candidates.
Always very cash, Alexia Laroche-Joubert adds: “Basically, I always considered people who criticized us to be corny. That [les manifestations, ndlr]I admit that I found it so ridiculous.” As a reminder, the final of the show which saw Loana and Christophe triumph was watched by 11.7 million viewers when the winners were announced.
