If you have already watched season 3 of “The Bridgertons Chronicle”, which has just been released on Netflix, you probably haven’t missed this detail which agitates Internet users. This is a gesture made by Luke Newton, alias Colin in the series, at the end of episode 4. While Colin and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) are in a carriage taking them home, they confess their mutual feelings. This gives rise to one of the hottest moments of the series, since the two lovebirds begin to kiss, before Colin slips his fingers under Penelope’s dress, to touch the latter’s sex. Suddenly, their carriage stops and Colin then puts Penelope’s dress back in place, rolling up the sleeve in a particular way: without using his index and middle fingers.

A subtle gesture which was nevertheless noticed by many Internet users. And they wondered if this detail, which adds spontaneity and authenticity to the scene, had been written in the episode’s script or not. Well it turns out it is improvisation ! It was Luke Newton who decided to do this at the time, said one of the film directors, Andrew Ahn. He reacted to a message from a user on X, who wondered who had the idea for this particular detail. “I wish I could take credit for this incredible moment of physical authenticity, but I didn’t give instructions on this gesture. It’s all by Luke Newton”, wrote Andrew Ahn, putting an end to the mystery.

These first names have become popular again thanks to the series “The Bridgerton Chronicles”
