Fifteen kilos (24 with the accompanying lectern), 117 cm in width in the open position… The general and particular map of the kingdom of France by Cassini, known as Cassini mapreproduced in its original dimensions by Conspiration editions, is indeed extraordinary.

Printed in only 250 copies, the work includes 400 pages and 181 sheets enhanced with watercolor detailing precisely the Kingdom of France in the 18th century.e century. It reproduces an original work measuring 11 by 12 meters where topographers, draftsmen, astronomers, and mathematicians collaborated over several generations to offer a detailed topographical marvel filled with details of unparalleled quality.

Dismountable lectern

A suitable removable lectern, created by Olivier Maupindirector of the Written Heritage Restoration Training Center, supports the reissue of this mythical map, a true pictorial and scientific treasure.

The scientific direction of the publication was provided by the historian specializing in urban history and cartography Jean-Luc Arnaudalso author of the scientific introduction.

The 250 copies printed were mainly acquired by French universities and institutions (Polytechnique, Paris-Cité, BnF) and international ones (Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge). Individually, a copy is available for purchase for 2,400 euros.
