The Prime Minister presented, this Tuesday, the general policy of his government to the National Assembly. Heckled from the beginning to the end of his speech, Michel Barnier remained imperturbable. This speech, described by some as long and monotonous, echoes the image that has been painted of the Prime Minister since his appointment: a man “too serious”, which would lack humor. “How boring is heit’s a nightcap!”said a Republican to Le Parisien. “He is devoid of humor, even Chirac said so”, added another.
Alexis Corbière does not mince his words on Michel Barnier
This Tuesday, Alexis Corbière seemed of this opinion regarding the Prime Minister’s speech. “When we try to be serious but we don’t have much to say, we’re boring, that’s what Barnier did!”, says the MP bluntly. A few hours earlier in Public Senate, Alexis Corbière reaffirmed his opposition to the new government by declaring that Michel Barnier was “not legitimate”. According to the elected official of Seine-Saint-Denis, it is Lucie Castets who “should be the Prime Minister, and make the speech this afternoon”.
During his speech, Alexis Corbière also denounced collusion between the RN and the government of Michel Barnier. “This is the first time in national history, at least since the Second World War, that a government exists only because the extreme right said they would not vote for censure. So much so that, I don’t know what Mr. Barnier is going to say, but I know what he is not going to say, these are words that offend Ms. Le Pen”, indicated the MP in particular.
