The launch of the American version of “Golden Bachelor” was a success in the United States, attracting nearly 11 million viewers. The French adaptation broadcast on M6, however, did not meet the same enthusiasm. The show, centered on Landry, a 60-year-old widower looking for love, failed to captivate the French public, with audiences which quickly plummeted.

From the first two episodes, the figures fell below the million viewers mark. Worse: a loss of 200,000 viewers from one week to the next confirmed the French’s disinterest in this concept of dating senior.

Faced with this failure, M6 decided to end the experiment quickly. This Wednesday, the channel will broadcast four episodes in a row to conclude the season. The final will even be scheduled in the middle of the night, around 2 a.m., leaving little chance of an increase in audiences. From next week, Julien Courbet will take over the time slot with his show “Arnaques”, in the hope of winning back viewers.
