In the next episode of “Un Si Grand Soleil”… While Elisabeth gives up filing a complaint against Catherine, Thaïs discovers the true face of the Aguerra family.
Warning, the following paragraphs contain spoilers for the episode of Un Si Grand Soleil broadcast tomorrow evening on France 2! If you don’t want to know anything, don’t read what follows!
Wednesday April 17 in Un si grand soleil…
Elisabeth gives up filing a complaint against Catherine
In the early morning, François announces to Laurine that Élisabeth will not file a complaint against her mother. While he wonders how Catherine could have done such a stupid thing, Laurine points out to him that this is all her fault. If she is the first to notice that Catherine has many faults, she nevertheless specifies that she did not deserve to be treated like that. As he is doing exactly the same thing with Boris, Laurine advises him to be wary before all this explodes in his hands. Although they are a dysfunctional family, Laurine finally reminds him that they are still a family and that’s all that matters.
François then joins Catherine and tells her that Elisabeth has given up filing a complaint. When she asks what he wants in exchange, François replies that he wants her to vote on the merger and acquisition at the board meeting which will take place next week. And to coax her, he makes her believe that he struggled because the idea of knowing her in prison was unbearable to him.
At the hospital, Janet worries about Alain, whom she finds particularly tired. She therefore recommends that he return but the doctor assures that everything is fine. Claire, who saw them discussing, asks Doctor Lewis about his condition. The latter then tells him that Elisabeth kicked him out. Without waiting, Claire calls the businesswoman who tells her the whole story. Having had her share of betrayal since Hugues, Elisabeth swears that she will never trust a man again.
When night falls, Philippe tells Thaïs that Arnaud never accepted his marriage to Anne. Indeed, Arnaud’s mother died when he was little and he never got over it. This is surely also why he has so much difficulty accepting the prospect of Philippe’s death. Today, Arnaud does not feel capable of facing new grief.
At the same time, Philippe receives a call from Anne who warns him that she will be home late. In reality, the latter joins her lover in front of a hotel.
At the end of the day, Laurine informs Boris that the merger will take place. A hard blow for the young man who realizes that he has been manipulated by his mother from the start but above all that she is no better than his father…
Thaïs discovers the true face of the Aguerra family
In the morning, Arnaud pushes his father to fight and encourages him to make an appointment with a specialist in Paris. Unfortunately, Philippe categorically refuses. Shortly after, Anne joins their discussion and certifies that the doctors who follow her father are very competent. Once he has cut her off sharply, Arnaud says that he has no confidence in her. According to him, she married her father only for money.
For her part, Thaïs confides in Maéva about Philippe’s state of health and struggles to realize that he is doomed. Understanding, Maéva advises him to take a step back by becoming less emotionally involved. Unfortunately, it’s too late because Thaïs has already become attached to him.
Not far from there, Arnaud arrives in Doctor Lewis’ office demanding to know how she is going to treat his father. Unfortunately, Janet is bound by medical confidentiality. She therefore asks him to accompany her to her next appointment to get answers to her questions. Angry, he threatens to sue her if he discovers the slightest negligence on her part regarding her father.
Meanwhile, Louis, who was informed by Maéva of what she is going through at the moment, comes to check on Thaïs. The latter then confides that the situation is heavy. To reassure her, Louis explains that support is important and that what she does really makes sense.
At the end of the day, Thaïs and Philippe play the game of Go. When he comes home, Arnaud is tense and asks to speak to his father. However, he refuses until he apologizes to Anne. After he replies that he told the truth, Arnaud leaves the place furious.
Shortly after, Thaïs joins Arnaud in the garden and then tries to find out why he is angry with Anne. For Arnaud, she has no desire for Philippe to heal and it is entirely his fault if he refuses to fight. And to add that she can only wait for him to die. While Thaïs thinks that he is making the picture darker, Arnaud asks her to let it go before specifying that he does not want to involve her in their family stories.
