Breath: CPTS Velay-Sud launches a new COPD screening campaign

The CPTS Velay-Sud, a territorial professional health community, will launch between May 1 and June 30, 2024 a new screening campaign for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). COPD is a common chronic lung disease that is often ignored by those who suffer from it.

After the success encountered during the 2023 campaign which made it possible to diagnose cases of COPD, but also other pathologies, the CPTS Velay-Sud decided to repeat this action for the benefit of patients in the 36 municipalities in its territory.

Ten volunteer pharmacies will participate in this new identification campaign with a questionnaire possibly followed by a breath measurement.

This screening concerns patients aged over 40, not already under the care of a pulmonologist, residing in one of the 36 municipalities in the CPTS territory and meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Shortness of breath on exertion,
  • Cough,
  • Respiratory tract congestion,
  • Frequently suffering from bronchitis,
  • Smoking or having smoked,

If you meet one or more of these criteria and wish to be tested, you can contact the CPTS Velay-Sud who will direct you to the partner pharmacy closest to your home (Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on 07 44 44 64 81 or by email: [email protected]).
