Street Fighter 6 Live Tournament Host Accidentally Leaves Chun-Li’s “Naked” Mod On During Match

Oops : Live TV has been a big source of bloopers for decades. A single mistake is enough to disrupt the planned exchanges. So producers, actors, animators, and everyone else involved in a live production need to be prepared for the occasional mishap. With the rise of live streaming, this has never been truer.

On Tuesday, Twitch channel Corner2Corner apologized for a huge blunder during a recent Street Fighter tournament it hosted. According to Corner2Corner, the host https://twitter.com/corner2_corner/status/1686433735669927940 one of the fights unintentionally left a “graphical mod” enabled, leaving Chun-Li naked for several seconds.

“Corner2Corner would like to apologize for a recent error during a stream during our last tournament where a graphics mod was accidentally left on for a few seconds,” C2C tweeted. “We are very sorry that this happened. »

The Twitter thread continues to apologize for the error and clarifies that the host’s computer had the mod enabled (no pun intended) and it was not the fight participant’s fault. The team said that the mod is now disabled and such a situation will never happen again.

Since the broadcast was live, it was not possible to edit or censor the error. Of course, as with everything on the internet, this error was immediately tweeted out for anyone not watching the tournament to see.

Luckily, for mods where the character is naked, this one wasn’t too revealing. It looked more like Chun-Li was wearing a flesh-colored jumpsuit. No nipples or genitalia were visible on the model. If seeing a computer character with no clothing textures doesn’t offend you, accept Twitter’s disclaimer and see for yourself (below).

If anything, the incident was more funny than offensive. The match starts after a transition from the round table screen. Although it was immediately obvious that Chun-Li’s model was nude, commenters didn’t seem to notice at first.

Finally, one of them sees the naked fighter, sneers, and says, “Uh. Yes, this is a very interesting costume for Chun-Li. »

Both commentators shyly laughed to hide their embarrassment while quickly returning to the turn chart. They then briefly paused to remove the mod and asked players to restart the match.

The following excuses were required, but that’s live TV for you. “Accidental” blunders have happened many times since the live broadcast began. Arguably the most famous was Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” during Super Bowl XXXVIII.

Sportscasters, in particular, often have to react quickly to cover up or apologize for something the cameraman has captured on screen. Although I couldn’t find the video, I remember watching a San Francisco Giants game in the 90s where the pitcher struck out Barry Bonds. The cameraman, thinking he could get a good shot showing Bonds’ disgust, zoomed in on his face as he walked off the pitch and clearly said, “fuck.”

Without missing a beat, the broadcast commentator interjected, “Here’s Barry Bonds saying, ‘Where’s that pitch coming from?’ »
