James Crawford became the first Canadian in 42 years to win the legendary Kitzbühel Alpine Ski World Cup downhill this Saturday in Austria. He was accompanied on the podium by his compatriot Alexander Cameron, who finished third and the Swiss Alexis Monney finished 2nd.

Leading Frenchman Maxence Muzaton is 7th. Following Alexis Pinturault’s serious fall (fractured tibia) yesterday during the Super-G, the debate on safety in downhill skiing is opening up a little more 10 days before the world championships in Saalbach.
