Carignan: the perseverance of Marc-Antoine Delage to join the Star Académie

Marc-Antoine Delage was selected to participate in the show Star Academy. The young man from Carignan seized his chance after several attempts.

Marc-Antoine Delage in Star Academy, quite a surprise for his mother, Josée Morin! “He went to an extended audition to participate in the show without telling us,” she smiles. He was convinced he was going to be caught. You should know that he had already tried when he was 16, another time at The Voice, but the judges did not turn around and another time Star Academy, where he had gone to appear on television for his audition. »

Despite the refusals, the Carignan resident persisted until being selected last week to participate in the reality . “He’s our fourth child and he came after three daughters,” continues Josée Morin. It’s true that he is loved, pampered, that life has been easy for him, but he created his name all alone. He’s a fighter! His father already advised him to persevere in school to have a plan B if his singing career did not work out. He responded that his plans A, B and C were singing. »

Marc-Antoine Delage cannot imagine life without singing. Josée Morin checks it daily. “He sings as soon as he wakes up. In the shower, in the living room and all over the house, he won’t stop singing. Her idols are Celine Dion and Billie Eilish. He is someone smiling, calm and empathetic. I must have seen him angry twice in my life. »

A passion that was revealed quite early when, as a young boy of eight, he practiced on stage. “He sang during a Christmas show and we noticed that he had a beautiful tone of voice,” confides Josée Morin. It was then suggested to him that he take lessons and he accepted. He took it seriously very quickly, because he saw that we were amazed by his abilities. Also, to our surprise, we later watched videos of him turning the music up loud and singing along when we were away. »

A positive image

Delighted to see her son enter the world of entertainment, the mother hopes that her protégé will have good times.

“When I saw him eliminated The Voiceher pretty little face was so ruined that I had difficulty getting over it. This time I wanted him to be taken to have a more positive image of him in my mind and it also rewards his fighting spirit. »

His pugnacity could even be due to the way in which he came into the world. “It’s a world first!”, smiles Josée Morin. After having our three daughters, my husband had a vasectomy. A few years later, we wanted another child and we went through fertilization in vitro. At the time, we had a 5% chance that it would work on the second attempt and Marc-Antoine arrived! »
