Homicide in LaSalle: victim’s son accused

Tyrell Rytar, 21, was charged Friday morning with the second-degree murder of his mother, Lisa Marie Rytar, 42, who was found dead in a home in the LaSalle borough of Montreal on Thursday.

According to the prosecution, Mr. Rytar killed his mother on Tuesday.

Agents from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) went to Lisa Marie Rytar’s house two days later because of a 911 call requesting the checking a person’s health. When they arrived, the police discovered the victim’s body.

Later in the day, the SPVM confirmed that it was a murder, as the woman’s body showed signs of violence.

Conflictful relationship

According to a report from the Administrative Housing Tribunal (TAL) dating from 2021, the owner of the building in which the victim and her son lived had tried to evict them due to violent acts perpetrated by Tyrell Rytar.

The homeowner said neighbors were disturbed and property, including a window, was broken.

According to the report of OFthe mother and her son had a conflicted relationship and they both suffered from mental health problems.

Police reportedly visited this family’s home 13 times between May 2018 and July 2020 due to arguments between Tyrell and Lisa Marie Rytar.

Tyrell Rytar, 21, has no criminal record, according to the SPVM.

The accused’s lawyer, Me Louis-Philippe Roy, does not yet know whether he will request a psychiatric evaluation of his client.

We will read the documents that the prosecution will give us and we will be able to meet the client and find out more about the said file.he declared.

The legal proceedings will continue at the Montreal courthouse on February 25.

The homicide of Lisa Marie Rytar is the first murder of a woman to occur in 2025 in Quebec.
