A suspect has been identified and is currently the subject of an active search by law enforcement after the discovery of the couple’s death in Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, in Calvados.
According to information reported this Thursday by Here Normandy, it would be a resident of the town who fled in a vehicle which was spotted crossing the Pont de Normandie, towards Seine-Maritime.
A gendarmerie helicopter flew over the Bolbec area (Seine-Maritime), before expanding the search to the Yvetot sector.
-The bodies of Maëva Gazé and Martin Delamare, 20 years olddomiciled in Trouville, were found Thursday in the Pays d’Auge. The Caen public prosecutor confirmed the death of the two young people who had not given any sign of life since Wednesday. Their disappearance had been reported to the Pont-l’Évêque gendarmerie.
The first elements of the investigation favor the theory of a criminal act, potentially linked to a drug case.
The victims’ car was located near the town hall of Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, while their dog was wandering nearby.
The bodies, discovered shortly after, show signs of violence: one of the bodies bears “significant wounds on the face”, and the other shows “marks which could correspond to bullet holes”, specified the prosecutor of Caen. An autopsy will be carried out in the coming days to clarify the exact circumstances of death.
In its press release, the prosecution stressed that “the circumstances of these murders as well as their motives remain unknown, no hypothesis being ruled out.”
A judicial investigation for murder has been opened against X, and the investigation is now under the direction of an investigating judge.
