Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban denounced Tuesday “hostile and aggressive” statements from Ukraine, which decided to interrupt the transit of Russian gas to Central Europe, deeming them “unacceptable” and citing “cons -measures” if kyiv does not review its position.

“The way the Ukrainians refused to resolve this issue in a negotiated manner is simply unacceptable,” said Orban, one of the closest partners within the European Union of American Presidents Donald Trump and Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin. “Aggressive and hostile statements are coming from kyiv, and this is not the way to resolve these issues,” added the nationalist leader, after an interview with his Slovak counterpart, the nationalist Robert Fico.

“The changes taking place in the world are working against kyiv and weakening its position. If it remains aggressive and hostile, it will lose,” warned Victor Orban, who spoke the day after Donald Trump’s return to the White House. “We will eventually get angry and we will take countermeasures,” he added, without saying which ones.
