Lou Jeanmonnot holds his fifth victory of the Biathlon World Cup 2024/25 !
The Frenchwoman won the women’s sprintAntholz-Anterselva this Thursday, January 23 thanks to a perfect race. With a 10/10 on shots and the second best ski time at 0.1 sd’Anamarija Lampicshe started her Italian weekend like that of Ruhpolding a week earlier: with a first place.
Lou Jeanmonnot was able to adapt to the altitude of the stadium which will host the Olympic events of biathlon of the JO d’hiver de Milano Cortina 2026 to complete his 7.5 km in 21 min 09 s 5. This time allowed him to finish 7.2 s ahead of Selina Grotian and 16.7 s on Franziska Preuss.
Despite her exceptional race, the Frenchwoman remained under threat from the 20-year-old biathlete until the end. Game 14 bibs later, the German came out of her 5/5 shooting lying on the skis of the native of Pontarlier who had just validated her 10/10. Selina Grotian confirmed with a second 5/5 standing and was less than ten seconds behind throughout her last lap, even gaining 2 seconds from the future winner.
I just don’t.
She had to settle for second place ahead of her compatriot Franziska Preuss. The leader of the general classification also performed flawlessly against the targets but was not fast enough on skis to compete.
-Finishing third doesn’t do her business because she loses 25 of her 142 points ahead of Lou Jeanmonnot in the general classification. The Frenchwoman therefore did a great job, especially having the opportunity to confirm the pursuit on Saturday, in which she will start first.
Other French women will have their cards to play in this race including Julia Simon (5e to 38 s), Jeanne Richard (6th at 40.9 s) and Océane Michelon (7th at 47.5 s).
