A couple living in Menetou-Salon, near Bourges (Cher) was taken into police custody after the death of their infant, according to information from Berry Républicain confirmed to Le Parisien. The two parents were referred this Wednesday morning to the public prosecutor’s office who opened an investigation into intentional violence leading to death. The parents are suspected of being at the origin of violence which led to the death of the infant. According to the local newspaper, emergency services intervened at the couple’s home on January 14. During the night, the infant, a few weeks old, was airlifted urgently to the regional university hospital center in Tours (Indre-et-Loire).
