A gas pipe was damaged during public works.
This Tuesday, January 21, an accidental gas leak mobilized significant resources in Vaulx-en-Velin. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Rue de la République and Rue de l’Égalité, when a pipe was pierced by a construction machine.
Faced with the potential danger, firefighters established a security perimeter to protect local residents and facilitate operations. Police also blocked access to the area, blocking vehicle and pedestrian traffic. These measures have caused significant slowdowns in the sector.
The situation was brought under control thanks to the intervention of GrDF teams, who repaired the pipe after securing the leak. No injuries were reported.
