-An octogenarian died in a fire in a building in Villeurbanne this Tuesday, January 21 afternoon. The fire broke out on the top floor of this seven-story building located on rue du 4August in Villeurbanne. Despite the rapid intervention of emergency services on site, the octogenarian could not be resuscitated, according to the Rhône Prefecture.
The fire is now extinguished, although a fire brigade was still deployed at the end of the day in front of the scene of the tragedy. An investigation was opened to determine the causes of the fire.
