Created in Paris in 1995 and present in Nantes since 2022, the Pôle Léonard de Vinci will establish its third site in Occitanie, more precisely in Montpellier. On this new campus will open next September the EMLV (Leonard de Vinci School of Management), the ESILV (Leonard de Vinci Higher School of Engineering) and finally the IIM, Digital School. It is mainly the latter which led the group to select the Hérault metropolis, well equipped in creative and cultural industries: “Apart from Ile-de-France, Montpellier is the city which brings together the mostalumni from the IIM, particularly those who have followed the Video Games specialization,” indicates Nicolas Glady, general director of the Pôle Léonard de Vinci. “More generally, there was a good combination between the local ecosystem and our training. The city is investing a lot in digital technology and so are we,” he adds.
Next September, the temporary 1,100 m2 campus will accommodate 110 students, all in their first year, almost half of whom will follow the engineering course (ESILV). The others will be divided between EMLV and IIM. Ultimately, the Center aims to train a thousand students each year, “i.e. 200 students per level since all training is Bac+5”, specifies the director.
One group, three schools
By opening its three courses simultaneously, the group brings its main asset to Montpellier: transversality. “It trickles down to the level of associations and student life, in particular the Junior Enterprise where hybridization is very strong,” indicates Nicolas Glady. Students, whether future managers, designers or engineers, learn to live and work together through different projects, beyond the boundaries of their own curriculum. “This combination of scientific, technological, creative and human skills is very interesting,” greets the director.
In addition to its “digital orientation”, the group also relies on the international dimension and social openness to make a difference. Without forgetting sport: “We are the group of schools which obtained the most medals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games! », welcomes Nicolas Glady. The establishment counts among its members the Portal brothers, Paralympic swimmers – Kylian studies at EMLV and Alex at ESILV -, and Varian Pasquet, also a future engineer and gold medalist in rugby 7 this summer.
-Registration is possible via Parcoursup for ESILV and EMLV (from January 22). It is done on application and internal competition for the IIM. The Montpellier campus, located at 61 rue Guillaume Dupuytren, will have an open house on Saturday February 8, 2025: to participate, go to the site.
