More than 550 humanitarian aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing on Sunday, the first day of the ceasefire agreement.
“Since Sunday morning, 552 humanitarian aid trucks have crossed the crossing points, including 242 destined for the northern part of the Gaza Strip,” a source from the Gaza Strip’s Interior Ministry told Anadolu Agency.
The source explained that the cargoes included fuel, medical supplies and foodstuffs, as well as vegetables and fruits.
Efforts are underway to facilitate the entry of more humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the Gaza population, it was also confirmed.
Furthermore, according to the Al-Qahera News website, 330 aid trucks, including 20 tankers, crossed the Israeli-controlled crossing points of Al-Auja and Kerem Shalom (south) to reach the Gaza Strip.
The Gaza ceasefire agreement came into effect at 11:15 a.m. local time (0915 GMT) on Sunday, after a delay of several hours due to Israeli allegations that Hamas delayed the disclosure of ‘a list of captives to be released. The ceasefire was initially scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. local time.

In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the Gaza Strip.
Israel is also being prosecuted before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for “the crime of genocide,” due to the war it is waging against the Palestinian enclave.
