“2025 will be a pivotal year”: Les Chats Mail will move this summer into new premises located in the Beauvoir district, in Châteaudun

The years go by and tend to be the same for Les Chats Mail.

“2024 was not a good year, like 2023, and it is not one of the best years that we will remember,” admitted, Sunday afternoon January 19, Christine Bentabel, president of the Dun association which fights against the proliferation of stray cats by sterilizing and identifying them.

Last year was marked by “a sad record” with 41 cats dying and a further drop in adoptions. “What consoles us is that these 139 adoptions are of quality with very invested and responsible people,” underlines the president, also “happy” that the association remains in a balanced budget with a surplus of €317.

Christine Bentabet also wanted to thank the volunteers. “There are ups and downs and we don’t always agree, but without you, we couldn’t exist. We’re always looking for new volunteers and host families – we only have one at the moment! – who would agree to give a little of their time to change the litter boxes, take care of the cats and feed them. »

The Les Chats Mail association will be relocated to new municipal premises, located in the Beauvoir district. Its reception capacity will be reduced and the number of stray cats taken into care may therefore decrease.
