An urban forest takes root in Port Ariane

In the Port Ariane district, on the Mall of the National Order of Merit, a real urban forest is being created, the fruit of the know-how of the teams of the Sarivière company which has been investing for many years in the sustainable development of the municipality. We can also see its latest achievements, the development of the Fontvin roundabout and the exterior of the sports center.

The design of this urban forest is distinguished by the wide variety of plants planted there: oaks of different varieties, camphor, schinus mello or even maple or magnolias which rub shoulders with liquidambars, lagestroemia or other Judas trees… Carefully selected species, alternating deciduous and evergreen plants, thus creating, throughout the seasons, a refuge for birds and insects. The new development of these spaces, which were previously grassed, is not limited to beautifying the landscape, it also contributes to the fight against global warming. Indeed, tree planting plays a crucial role in capturing CO2, while providing a real island of freshness in the heart of the neighborhood. This ambitious project aims to improve the quality of life of residents while preserving the biodiversity of the site. To guarantee the sustainability of this forest, the soil has been carefully worked and amended. In addition, a drip watering system was put in place to ensure a regulated supply of water for all the plants. This thoughtful approach demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable resource management. Residents of terraced housing will benefit from the positive effects of this innovative project for biodiversity and their well-being. Finally, one more space for relaxation and pleasant walking within the town.
