The Grenats produced an interesting performance this Saturday January 18 at Saint-Symphorien against the Parisians. Discover some reactions from Gauthier Hein and Matthieu Udol after this success for FC Metz over Paris FC (3-1).
Gauthier Hein was satisfied with his team’s performance and the reaction of FC Metz against Paris FC. “We weren’t worried, but we wanted to get things going again and score goals at home in front of our crowd. Tonight, we saw that we were capable of doing good things offensively. »
Involved in the three Messines achievements, the midfielder also delivered a successful performance against the Parisians. “I try to do what I know how to do. Today it happened, and the attackers finished the actions, so that helps me. On the first goal, it’s a set piece, we can also be dangerous in these phases. And it was important for me to contribute to the collective. »
And FC Metz found some offensive momentum, after having not scored for (too) a long time. A satisfaction for captain Matthieu Udol. “We needed to find someone who was decisive. Sabaly has had a less good shot for some time on this side. But it’s good to have several players capable of scoring goals. We were struggling with this in the last few matches and for a while. It’s a good thing, it gives confidence to our attackers”he rejoiced.
Asked to give his reaction at the end of the meeting, Matthieu Udol praised the solid performance of FC Metz. “It brought together a lot of positive things that we’ve been doing lately. Even though we conceded a goal, we were able to create chances and be effective against the championship leader. It’s a good performance, and a lot of good things, to be confirmed in the next home match”. A feeling also shared by Gauthier Hein. “Regarding the content, we were very consistent, and managed to respect the game plan. This should serve us well for the future, as an example. »
