After the dissolution of the National Assembly, it was Hugo Prevost, 24, a student unionist, who was elected deputy for this constituency last July, under the label of the New Popular Front.

Coming in first in the first round, he narrowly beat (less than 1,500 votes ahead), in the second, former minister Olivier Véran (Together!) and Alexandre Lacroix (LR-RN union) in a triangular. He then joined the parliamentary group of Insoumise.

But at the beginning of October, accused of “serious acts of a sexual nature which could constitute criminal offenses, prior to his election”, he was excluded from the rebellious parliamentary group and resigned immediately.

The election to replace him must take place within three months, this is how a little less than 85,000 Isère voters find themselves going to vote this Sunday, January 19 for the second round. The first took place on Sunday January 12.
