The 2025 calendar is off to a strong start with UFC 311 this weekend. Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defends his title against Arman Tsarukyan, while Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov face off for the bantamweight belt. French fans will also have something to rejoice with the highly anticipated fight between Nassourdine Imavov and Israel Adesanya, broadcast at a favorable time of 6 p.m.
The season continues with UFC 312 in Sydney, where Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland will compete for the middleweight title. UFC 313 could see the return of Justin Gaethje against Dan Hooker on March 8, while Leon Edwards will face Jack Della Maddalena on March 22 at welterweight. France will be well represented at the start of the year with the upcoming fights of Kevin Jousset, Morgan Charrière, Oumar Sy and William Gomis.
UFC 311 : Makhachev vs Tsarukyan 2
UFC 311 is the first major event headlined by Islam Makhachev who will defend his lightweight belt against challenger Arman Tsarukyan. If victorious, Makhachev could become the first in the division to make four consecutive title defenses, while Tsarukyan has the opportunity to capture the crown in the UFC’s toughest division.
The evening will also be marked by another fight, pitting bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili against Umar Nurmagomedov. Finally, three other top clashes: Jiri Prochazka vs Jamahal Hill, Beneil Dariush vs Renato Moicano, and Kevin Holland vs Reinier de Ridder. MatchTV has scheduled the main card of UFC 311 in streaming for free from 4 a.m.
UFC 312 : Du Plessis vs Strickland 2
UFC 312 will come to Sydney on February 9 for a night featuring two championship fights. Dricus du Plessis will defend his title against Sean Strickland, former holder of the belt and current number 1 in the division. In the co-May event, strawweight champion Zhang Weili will put her belt on the line against American Tatiana Suarez.
The card will also feature the return of Frenchman Kevin Jousset who will attempt to bounce back from his TKO defeat to Bryan Battle, by facing local fighter Jonathan Micallef. A heavyweight duel between Justin Tafa and Tallison Teixeira also promises to be explosive.
UFC 313 : Gaethje vs Hooker
UFC 313, scheduled for March 8 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, could mark Justin Gaethje’s quick return to the octagon. The former BMF belt holder delivered a memorable performance at UFC 300 with a spectacular knockout against Max Holloway. A fight rewarded with the “Fight of the Night” bonus.
If the fight is confirmed, Gaethje would face rising New Zealand star Dan Hooker in the lightweight category. The stakes would be high for both men: a victory could give Gaethje a title shot, while Hooker could move into the top 5 of the division if successful.
