If in Marseille and Provence, the trend often leans in favor of king cake, here is a good reason to vary the pleasures.

The Comptoir National de l’Or is joining forces, in the PACA region, with six bakeries, including two in the Marseille city, to save a 5 gram ingot following the purchase of a galette des rois.

Gold thanks to a galette des rois

Two Marseille bakeries are participating in this competition: the Montaigne bakery (12th) and the Aixoise bakery (1st). Note that the Fontvieille bakery, located in Allauch, is also joining the event, as is that of La Fabrique, in La Ciotat.

Since January 1, 2025 and until the 31st, “one winner per point of sale can win a 5 gram ingot during a competition punctuated by a draw, for a value of 445 euros (price according to the prices of December 31, Editor’s note), by purchasing a cake,” explains the Comptoir National de l’Or.

In detail, the lucky “kings and queens” of the cake will therefore have the opportunity to win a gold ingot measuring 23.3 mm long and 14 mm wide.

A competition via a QR code

How do you know if the galette des rois is the winner? “Customers will be able to scan the QR code on the cake bag and/or on the flyer,” the organizer further specifies.

They will also have the opportunity to register via the registration form on the flyer, so that it can be deposited in one of the Comptoir National de l’Or agencies. The competition will be closed with a draw in February.
