It was at 5 avenue Jean-Foucaud, in the center of Limoges, that the alert was given this Friday, January 17, shortly before 3:30 p.m.
The cause was a “gas leak on a medium pressure pipe caused by an earth-moving machine”, specifies Eric Grodzki, lieutenant at the Haute-Vienne fire and rescue service.
GrDF teams quickly plugged the leak and have been working ever since to restore gas to 156 homes.
Eric Grodzki indicates that “the usual checks and all the measures carried out by the firefighters proved to be void”.
-No evacuation was necessary, but the avenue was cordoned off by the police during the intervention. Traffic was slowed on nearby streets.
