The Polaris art center welcomes a big name from the contemporary scene: until January 26, the public is invited to discover the world of Yacine Aït Kaci through ARCHIPEL | Genesis. An immersive exhibition in which we navigate between metaphorical islands where stories, cultures and reflections on climate change intertwine. A journey between reality and fiction, one of the keys to the polymorphous world of an artist for whom imagination, particularly at a time of the triumph of digital technology, constitutes one of our strongest certainties.
A mascot for the United Nations
Yacine Aït Kaci is a pioneer of digital arts. In the 90s, while he was a student at Arts Déco in Paris, the digital world began to emerge. He will quickly seize it to open up this new world rich in opportunities for creation and reflection. In 2011, he created Elyx, a small, smiling and universal virtual character who in 2015 became the very first digital ambassador of the United Nations. The approach continued in 2018 when he founded the Elyx Foundation and company with Adeline Pilon, which bridge the gap between sustainable development goals, innovation and art. Already well present on social networks, Elyx has since taken over the Metaverse.
