Malawi reaffirmed its support for the territorial integrity of Morocco, and the sovereignty of the Kingdom over all its territory, including the Moroccan Sahara region.
The Rabat-Lilongwe axis is strengthening in a dynamic of intra-African cooperation, in particular through the Royal Initiative, which Malawi supports, aimed at promoting access of the Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean.
This Thursday, in Rabat, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and his Malawian counterpart, Ms. Nancy Tembo, expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Morocco and Malawi at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
On the bilateral level, the two ministers committed to further strengthening cooperation, particularly in the area of food security where the Kingdom of Morocco will support the Republic of Malawi in the establishment of an ambitious partnership for the development of sustainable agriculture.
At the multilateral level, Mr. Bourita and Ms. Tembo stressed the importance of intensifying their cooperation with a view to further harmonizing their positions within regional, continental and international institutions, such as the African Union (AU) and the United Nations. United Nations (UN), it is emphasized in a joint communiqué signed at the end of the talks between the two ministers.
At the end of her meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, Ms. Tembo also underlined that HE Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi , described the Royal Initiative aimed at promoting access of the Sahel States to the Atlantic Ocean as enlightened and an opportunity in favor of intra-African cooperation.
